How to improve your TOEFL Listening Score
Category: Test Preparation

About

Learn a proven system to deliver clear and quality answers to TOEFL Speaking questions.

Lessons provide a review of any underlying grammatical errors or habits as well as specific TOEFL Listening questions. You will learn how to effectively use the allotted time to prepare, organize, and structure your answers and how to transition fluently between main and supporting ideas.

Materials & Method

All lessons include teacher-led classes, including prepared lesson slides, which students have access to, after class, while completing homework assignments. Additionally, an interactive whiteboard is used, when appropriate.

During the live lessons, TOEFL candidates will answer prompts that are designed to teach the skills required to successfully completed the exam.

We employ reading and listening to recorded files, live speaking exercises, and practice exercises that are completed as homework assignments with the recorded files sent to the teacher for review, evaluation, and feedback.

Bio

Business English, IELTS/TOEFL

I conduct a Placement Test and/or Needs Analysis to help determine your current level of English fluency and understand your wants and needs. We have to know both where you are and where you want to be to create a lesson plan to reach your goals. This is free of charge.

While in my third year of university, I was called up to military service. Because I was preparing for a career in education, I was trained to design curriculum and teach.

One of my strongest assets is an understanding of the adult learner. While I was within three semesters of completing my degree, I spent the next nearly 12 years attending classes on nights and weekends, while raising a family and working full-time.

At age thirty, I found myself working in South America. Prior to this, I spoke no Spanish. I have an understanding of and empathy for those who are trying to acquire a foreign language, as an adult. I know what it is like to have the thoughts and ideas of a 30-year old, but the speaking ability of a 3-year old!

As the Managing Partner of an advertising and marketing communications firm, I have a deep understanding of western-style business.

I understand what it is like to be an adult learner of a foreign language! I am ready to help you.

We offer a trial class -- but it is not so much a class as an opportunity to meet, review your Placement Test results, and for the teacher to determine your needs and goals so that we can design a customized lesson plan. There is no obligation for this, but you do have to complete the Placement Test, prior to this meeting. There is a minimal $5.00 fee to take the Placement Test and receive the results. To take the online Placement Test, you must send a working email address to me, through the Flatten Message System. This does not violate the Flatten Terms of Service, but you MUST schedule all classes through the above message system. If you have taken our placement test within the past two years, you do not have to retake it.
